Bamboo Burlap Chairs
New junk finds from this summer were these bamboo chairs. There were three of them.
The weaving on the back of one was broken so I decided to remove it from all of them.
After a thorough cleaning, I sanded them and applied white paint.
They then received a shabby chic sanding. I love me some shabby chic.
The real character for this transformation came with the new seat covers and matching seat backs. I used old burlap bean sacks from Nebraska.
The seat backs were made using two thicknesses of burlap with heavy duty fusible web sandwiched in between to give it a hefty stiffness. I attached them using upholstery tacks.
