After all the preparations that went into my son’s graduation a week ago, we planned a quiet, relaxing Memorial Day weekend with visiting friends. Yep, you know how that probably went. We ate too much, tried to do too much and stayed up too late. I think when we were younger we could have handled all those things just fine…hmm, maybe we’re getting old. (sigh) On that note, my birthday also happened to be this weekend. On Saturday we all went yard sale junking. We found some really great things.
This bench is already going through a transformation, but it isn’t done yet. The yellow fabric is part of an old bedspread. I think pillows and/or tote bags will be produced from it. Those wooden candle holders might become legs for a chair I have been holding onto for way too long.
I’ve also started transforming this chair. It’s painted, but I haven’t recovered the seat and back yet. The end table is actually half of a vanity. These halves seem to be everywhere. I even have another one in the barn. I’m hoping to get to at least one of them this week.
I found lots of good deals on lace…
This freaky Halloween fabric looked pretty intriguing. Not sure what I will use it for. Fall crafts, shabby chic decor…?
Another light fixture for a birdbath and a few other odds and ends.
A partial bolt of blue tulle, a wire basket, metal bowl, flower petals and (my favorite find) black lace tennis shoes.
My husband found this great banana box. It is way cool! I’ll be posting on what he did to it very soon.
Hope you all had a great holiday weekend!
