Restyled Wall Mirror
This is another treasure I pulled from the barn.
I don’t know what the round thingies are for. Hmm…I’ll come back to them…
I usually have a vision of what I want before I start a project, but this one kinda evolved. I painted, washed and rubbed several layers of different paint colors. I started with light blue, then gray, then a lighter gray. I lightly sanded over everything.
Time to make a decision about the round thingies. I have textured wallpaper that reminds me of antique tin ceiling tiles. I cut a circle of the wallpaper to fit over each wood circle. They were simply glued in place. I painted gray over the top of them.
More layers of paint over everything. This time I added silver metallic, then a wash of white.
Finally, I think I like the finish.
The mirror didn’t give me a clue as to which end should be the top. There was no hanging hardware on the back…
I haven’t added my own hanger yet, but I think I like the circle thingies at the bottom. It provides a little pocket shelf. What do you think?
Enjoy!
