Another restyle, but this one was a quick one. I mean seriously! Including dry time, this one was done in a few hours. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the structure of this table. The problem? It was ugly.
Okay, ugly is in the eye of the beholder, but the bones of this half-round iron table screamed for something entirely different than its original finish during manufacturing. In fact, I’m kinda surprised it actually sold as a new piece.
Full disclosure, it was the color and the way it was applied that turned me off. The iron base was painted green and the wood top was dry brushed with the same green. The pictures really don’t show it, but trust me, the paint color was very unflattering.
On top of that, the store price was still on the bottom of the table. It was pretty pricey. Much more than what I will charge for it. Sometimes you just have to shrug and go on.
I removed the top and sanded it down to completely rid it of the green paint. I loved the wood.
It as then finished with clear wax.
The iron base took even less effort. I sprayed it with a rubbed bronze spray paint.
Lastly, all I had to do was reattach the half-round top to the iron base.
More Iron Table Goodness!
