Repurpose old ripped screens into this adorable screen snowman ornament. He’s quick, easy and free (if you have the screen) since you will be using basic craft supplies you already have.
Things You Will Need:
Scissors, ruler, hole punch
Craft paints-white, black, orange, pink
Paintbrush, sponge, wooden skewer, new pencil
What To Do:
Trace an oval approximately 4 1/4″ wide x 3 3/4″ tall on card stock. Cut out the shape.
Using a Sharpie, trace around the shape on the screen. Using household scissors (not your good fabric scissors), cut out the shape inside the marker lines. Note: Eye cover is recommended for this step. Cutting a screen produces bits that pop off in all directions.
Using white craft paint, paint both sides of the snowman head, allowing the paint to dry before turning. Tip: I placed the screen on parchment paper to prevent the paint from sticking.
Use photo as guide.
Choose which side of the head will be the face. Dip a bit of sponge in pink paint and lightly paint cheeks on the face.
Dip the eraser end of a new pencil in black paint and dot the eyes.
Dip the blunt end of a wooden skewer in black paint. Evenly space seven dots in a smile shape.
Dip the eraser end of the pencil in orange paint. Dot the center of the face. Use the point of the skewer to drag the paint into a carrot shape. Allow the paint to dry.
Use a hole punch to make a hanging hole in the top of the ornament.
Cut an 10″ length of jute. Stringthe jute through the hole and tie to create the hanger.
Rip a small amount of fabric into a strip. Tie a bow and using craft glue, attach to the bottom of the face.
