My husband talked me into doing another spring craft show. I know, I know…after last year I swore (yet again) I would NOT do another show in the spring, but at least with this one we will have a roof over our heads and a floor under our feet…well, sorta. More on that at a later time.
Meanwhile I have been going through my potential projects and stashes. I have lots of stashes. This pile just happens to be my crates. Each type presents challenges since each is a little different.
I decided to start with these. These small crates were used for packing something. They had labels, but I still couldn’t figure out what had been transported inside them.
After removing the labels, they were sanded and given a couple coats of creamy paint, then distressed-sanded once again.
I went through my stencils and found the perfect stencil. “FARMHOUSE” was stenciled on both sides of each crate.
I pulled out my stash of leather belts to add handles.
What a fun and quick project this was! I am selling them both, but I already told my husband if they don’t sell at this show I will be keeping one for myself. Wouldn’t it look cute on a dining table?
More crate inspiration!
