Bunnies, Bunnies, Bunnies!
Woo Hoo! I’m back! And ready to share Easter Decor Inspiration!
A few months ago my laptop crashed and burned. I finally got things going again by using my old Windows 7, but I had to change a few tools that wouldn’t convert to an older laptop. To say I am a bit gun-shy to get things going again is putting it mildly, but here goes. Please bear with me as I am sure I have more adjustments to make.
Now…On with the show!
I have been working on Easter items for Trunk N Treasures, a local brick and mortar where I sell items. I hope the next few posts will give you inspiration for your own Easter DIYs.
Easter Inspiration # 1-Scrap Fabric Easter Bunnies
I got my own inspiration for this project from a photo a friend texted me. I loved the unconventional use of color, as well as the plaids, checks and stripes.
After finding bunny shapes I liked, I used my Silhouette to size and cut my patterns. I cut each fabric bunny in four layers. The two inside layers were muslin or light, solid-colored fabric. The purpose of the inside layers was to add a bit more stiffness to the bunnies to prevent lumps and bumps from the filling from showing.
The bunnies were stitched right side out with seams exposed and an opening for stuffing. They were not turned. After stuffing I simply machined stitched the opening closed.
Time for the cute factor! I made fabric pom pom tails using strips of muslin.
The last touch was a ripped muslin strip around the neck and tied in a bow. Adorbs!
